F. Monroe Date of Birth: Jul. 19, 1854 Date of Death: Sep. 10, 1913 NOTES/INSCRIPTION/SHARES TOMBSTONE: (1) Liberal Democrate paper dated 9-19-1913 Mr. B. F. Monroe was laid to rest in the Bixler cemetery last Thursday. His death was due to uratic poisoning caused from hog cholera medicine being used in the biscuits instead of baking powder. Mr. Monroe has been batching for some time and a short time ago his son and wife came to stay with him. Mrs. Monroe made biscuits for supper on saturday evening and used all the baking powder from the can she had been using and a half tea-spoonful from another can, thinking it was baking powder. Mr. Monroe and son both ate of the biscuits and became quite ill during the meal. The doctor was summoned and Harry, the son, soon recovered, but Mr. Monroe sufferd until Tuedsday night, when he died. The deceased leaves ten daughters, one son and five grandchildren, besides a host of friends, who will miss him from their midst.
