Additional Comments:
Thelma was born in Dombey, Oklahoma to Ben & Laura Kinyon Houseman. She 

attended school at Bunch Grass and high school at Adams, OK. On Oct. 18, 1934, 

she married John Mark Bowers who passed away on May 3, 1960. They lived in 

Tyrone and then moved to Wapato, Wash. In 1941, they moved back to the family 

farm in the Dombey area.

Thelma was a caretaker/housekeeper for Mrs. Larrabee in Liberal. In 1965 she 

moved to Tyrone, OK and worked for a time in Gibson's at Liberal.In 1985, she 

moved to Hooker and then to Dunaway Manor in Guymon, OK on Feb. 1, 2005 where 

she passed away.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her three-day old 

daughter, Arloa Krene Bowers; her twin, Velma Lambert, and sister, Juanita 

Nichols; and four brothers, Tom, Bill, Ralph, and Loren Bowers.

Survivors include a son and daughter, seven grandchildren, fourteen 

great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granchild.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, sept. 28, 2005 at the Turpin 

Baptist Church with interment at the Restlawn Memorial Cemetery in Liberal.
