Epidemic Makes Its Appearance in Various Parts of State--Two Deaths Are Reported From Lawrence. Six Cases Appear in Topeka. Isolation of All Patients Will Be First Step in Fight--Authorities Urge Precautions on Part of Public. The influenza epidemic has reached Kansas. A total of 124 cases and two deaths were reported yesterday to Dr. S.J. CRUMBINE, secretary of the state board of health. Tho there have been isolated cases in various parts of the state since last fall, this is the first report of influenza in the form of an epidemic this year, Doctor Crumbine said. Sixty new cases were reported yesterday from Nemaha county, fourteen from Clyde, in Cloud county, fourteen new cases and two deaths in Lawrence, six in Topeka; sixteen in Sumner county and nineteen in Auburn. A report from Emporia last night stated that 100 new cases developed during the day at Olpe.
