Indications Point to Continuation of Closing Order in Topeka for Another Week--Death Total is 17. State is Short of Physicians. Two Localities Wire State Board of Health for Assistance--Dr. Crumbine Wires Surgeon General Blue. One hundred new cases of influenza in Topeka were reported yesterday to the city health department. The total number of cases in Topeka is now 633. Yesterday marked the highest number of new cases reported. In the opinion of Dr. H.L. Clark, the large number of new cases may not necessarily indicate a marked increase of the spread of the influenza here, but it may be the result of the order that all cases must be reported. At any rate, the general consensus of opinion at the health department office is that Topeka still faces a serious situation, and that the patriotic duty as well as the most practical thing for every one is to watch the situation carefully and to do all that is possible to do to avoid contagion.
