Miss Muriel Ticehurst To Wed Kansas City Man. First Time Girl Ever Applied for License Here. Breaking a marriage precedent in Shawnee county is to the credit of Miss Muriel TICEHURST, 21, Topeka, who went to the court house several days ago and obtained a marriage license for herself and Donald BROWN, 29, Kansas City, Mo. This is the first time a girl has applied for a marriage certificate, according to clerks in the office of Probate Judge Ralph H. Gaw. Miss Ticehurst, who lives in North Topeka, requested the issuance of a certificate be kept quiet until today.
