Edward N. DOHERTY for dismissal of his suit seeking restoration of full membership in the Knights of Columbus was filed at the request of his church superiors, it was disclosed Saturday. District Judge Robert H. KAUL dismissed the suit Friday on Father DOHERTY's motion. The priest's motion said that he feels his suspension by the Knights of Columbus without first preferring and serving charges on him "was unjust and unwarranted, but plaintiff has been requested by his superiors to discontinue" the action. Father DOHERTY, a pastor of a church at Wheaton, charged in his original suit that he was suspended by national officers of the K. of C. for criticizing administration of the organization. =================================================== Contributed for use by the USGenWeb Archive Project (http://www.usgenweb.org) and by the KSGenWeb Archive Project USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organization or persons.
