Film for Kansas Shut-Ins
State To Receive Substantial Share of Billion Feet Movies
New York, Jan. 8 - Kansas will share substantially in the 1,000,000,000 feet
of film to be distributed gratis by the motion picture industry during 1930
for the entertainment of 500,000 shut-ins of the United States and Canada, it
was made known here today following approval of recommendations by Miss
Catherine Northern, secretary of the Kansas City film board of trade.
The Kansas contribution will bring weekly showings of feature, newsreel and
comedy pictures to approximately 1,500 dependents - intimates of orphanages
and underprivileged children.
