ELA desires divorce from R. E. ELA and custody of their minor child, Richard, and of the family furniture, she says in her suit filed in the office of the clerk of the district court. Margaret M. FULLERTON likewise desires divorce from Howard G. FULLERTON. Both charge extreme cruelty and gross neglect. The ELAs were married in Kansas City, Mo, in June, 1900; the FULLERTONs in Los Angeles, Calif., June 31, 1931. ~~~~%*** ~ ***%~~~~ Belle WATSON, filing suit for divorce from Clifford WATSON, says they were married October 13, 1929, that Clifford is guilty of gross neglect and extreme cruelty, and that she has been compelled to leave home. She wants permanent alimony, and obtained from Judge Paul H. HEINZ, in second division Shawnee county district court today a restraining order to prevent Clifford from disposing of property. ~~~~%*** ~ ***%~~~~ Eli C. RUTH today filed a motion to obtain custody of Idell RUTH, 3, daughter now with her mother, Alice M. RUTH, at a place unknown, he says, to him. F. O MARTIN is named as Mrs. Ruth's attorney. ~~~~%*** ~ ***%~~~~ Police arrests Monday afternoon and night included Ralph GABRIEL, who gave no address, and Glen YARRINGTON, of Maryville, Mo., both held on charges of vagrancy; and Charlie COON, Wisconsin Indian, who gave his address as the Railroad "Y", and is held on a drunk charge. GABRIEL, booked at 2:30 o'clock, was the first arrest for the day. ~~~~%*** ~ ***%~~~~ Before Frank FLACK, United States Commissioner, today was arraigned the first person who had been charged with violation of the internal revenue act, so far as it applies to the liquor business, since the Eighteenth amendment went into effect fifteen years ago. The accused man is John MYERS, resident of Shawnee county outside of Topeka. He is charged with failure to pay a special tax required of wholesale liquor dealers. He was arrested by Major Jim GOING, former operative for the federal prohibition department, now a deputy collector of internal revenue.
