Aker (picture accompanies obituary) Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home for Mrs. Laura b. Aker, 335 Courtland, who died Monday in a Topeka hospital where she had been a patient since March 2. She had cancer. She was born in Lebo where she spent her early life and taught in rural schools. She lived in Topeka since 1929. She had been a secretary at First United Methodist Church and currently was employed by Griffith and Blair realtors. She was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church. She was married to Maurice H. Aker June 16, 1929, at Lebo. He died Nov. 29, 1973. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Norman E. Aker, 2501 Granthurst, and Jack L. Aker, San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Vance Hunt, 2724 Kentucky; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Spatz, Emporia, and Mrs. Neva Longhofer and Mrs. Opal Saursig, both at Lebo; and seven grandchildren.
