Ms. Edith U. BAILEY, 71, 502 Forest, died in a Topeka nursing home after a long illness. She was born July 9, 1894 at Broken Bow, Neb., and had lived in Topeka more than 40 years. She was a member of Oakland Wesleyan Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Albert Bailey, of the home; seven sons, Robert Bailey and Lester Bailey, both of Route 6, Leory Bailey, Hardy, Ark., William Bailey, Route 5, Clayton Bailey, Route 3, Elmer and Jim Bailey, both of Route 2; and three daughters, Mrs. Alberta WOMACK, 915 Bellview, Mrs. Rosie MAST, 428 Forest and Mrs. Ethel THRASH, 502 Forest. Other survivors include seven brothers, Floyd ALLEN, Oshoto, Wyo., Oscar Allen, Allliance, Neb., Cecil Allen, Winchester, Calif., Virgil Allen, Overbrook, John Allen, 1232 N. Taylor, Marion ALlen, Athol, Idaho, and Calvin Allen, Berryton; three sisters, Mrs. Flossie DINGER, Wamego, Mrs. Nellie KIRKHAM, Burlington, and Ms. Violet MEIRIES, 714 Sherman, 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oakland Wesleyan Methodist Church. Burial will be in Bauer Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Mrs. Bailey will lie after 1 p.m. Sunday at Davidson-Eslinger-Duff Funeral Home.
