William BEELE, 79, of 523 Van Buren, who suffered a fractured hip the night of March 25 at Sixth and Van Buren, died Tuesday afternoon in a Topeka hospital. Al MADER, police department's traffic lieutenant, said physicians informed him that death resulted from a heart attack and not the accident. Beeler was found in the street and rushed to the hospital. Officers who responded to the call found no trace of any motorist and any witnesses to the accident. Lieutenant Mader said officers at first thought Beeler had been a victim of a hit and run accident but later it developed he could have been injured in an accidental fall. Beeler had been a resident of Topeka many years. He was born April 17, 1868. No close relatives survived. He was a member of the Salvation Army. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army Citadel. (Note: Beele and Beeler spelled as printed in newspaper.)
