Harlan H. Brunt Dies; Manager of Scrap Firm.
Harlan H. BRUNT, 64, manager of Dyal Bros. & Co., Topeka scrap dealers, died
unexpectedly Wednesday night in Arizona. He was in his return trip from
California when stricken with a fatal hear attack. He had been suffering from a
heart ailment for more than a year, according to his brother-in-law, Ed
HOSSFELD, 435 Lafayette.
Mr. Brunt was born at Lincoln, Kan., and had been a resident of Topeka since he
was a boy. After completing his schooling, he became associated with his uncle,
John Brunt, in a drug store at Sixth and Jackson. Later, the store was moved to
the 700 block on Kansas Avenue. He had been manager of Dyal Bros. & Co. for the
last 10 years.
He and his wife, Mrs. Edith Brunt, left Topeka about six week ago to visit their
son, H.H. Brunt Jr., in Glendale, Calif.
He was a member of the Topeka Masonic bodies, the Arab Shrine and the Men's
Fellowship Class. His wife, son and uncle survive. His uncle, John Brunt, is
spending the winter in Hawaii. The body will be returned to Topeka for funeral
services and burial.
