Baldwin Is Dead. Had Operated Shoe Shop Here for 60 Years. William J.H. BALDWIN, 84, a resident of Topeka for more than 60 years, died at the family home near Valencia, Sunday. Mrs. BALDWIN was familiarly known to Topekans as "Uncle Billy," especially to those who patronized his shoe shop on Sixth street where he followed his trade for more than 60 years. He was born in Madison, Ind., in 1848 and came to Topeka in 1867. For the first few years he had lived on the family farm near Valencia. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 1 and of the Shawnee encampment No. 3. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia A. BALDWIN, and two sons, Harry BALDWIN of the home address, and William BALDWIN, 128 Topeka boulevard, Topeka.
