Carr Dies. Lawrence.--T. DeWitt CARR, dean of the University of Kansas school of engineering and architecture from 1947 to 1957, died Sunday in Washington, D.C. He was 71. The retired Navy captain and his wife had recently driven from their home in Scottsdale, Ariz. to visit relatives and friends on the East Coast. Death apparently was caused by a heart attack. A brief memorial service will be held in Washington, with cremation and burial in Arlington National Cemetery. Date for the services was not selected. At K.U. Carr took an active part in university administration and in working with business and industrial leaders of the state. For a time he was the University of Kansas faculty representative for the Old Big Seven athletic conference.
