Mrs. Elsie CHILDERS, 41, of 1122 Kansas Avenue, died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 12, 1897, in La Clede, Kan., and had been a resident of Topeka for the past two years. She was a member of the Baptist Church, and had been an employe of the Bell Telephone Company for the past nineteen years in the accounting department. She is survived by her husband, Fred CHILDERS of the home; one brother, David CARTER, Grenola, Kan.; four sisters, Mrs. N.C. FISHER, Grenola; Mrs. F.A. STEWART; Mrs. J.H. GIBSON, both of Moline, Kan.; and Mrs. L.D. CAREY, Topeka. The body will lie in state at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary until 9 a.m. Tuesday and then be taken to Emporia where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church.
