Services for Mrs. Miriam Richardson DuMARS, 78, 4712 W. 6th, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Penwell-Gabel Chapel with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. She died Wednesday at the Presbyterian Manor after a long illness. She was born Sept. 28, 1886, at Albany, Tex., and moved to Oklahoma City in her early life. She moved to Topeka in 1919. Mrs. DuMars was a playwright and author of several books, including "Seeds of the Nation," a story of life in Texas and Oklahoma Territory, and "Auditing Your Personality," a collection of essays based on a series of talks she had given at the YWCA. She was a member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church, Woman's Club, and Daughters of the American Revolution, and had served over 1,000 ours as a Gray Lady at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Her husband, John E. DuMars, Topeka attorney, died April 26, 1960.
