Goldman Is Dead. Prominent Merchant and Former Mayor of Oskaloosa. Oskaloosa, Kan., June 27.(Special) F.A. GOLDMAN, 72, prominent merchant of Oskaloosa, who settled here as a young immigrant, died today of cancer of the stomach. Mr. GOLDMAN came here 39 years ago and altho he started with virtually nothing, in 35 years he built up one of the largest department stores in Jefferson county. Mr. GOLDMAN was born in Hungary, came to America while a young man, settled in Oskaloosa in 1893 and was in business here until 1929 when he retired . He was at one time mayor. He was a member of Oskaloosa A.F. and A.M., No. 14, Abdaliah Shrine and Scottish Rite bodies. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Gertrude GOLDMAN of Oskaloosa; a sister, Mrs. Malvin WILLNER of Trefob, Slovakia; and a brother, Jacob GOLDMAN of Budapest. The funeral will be at the First Methodist church here Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Masonic services will be held at the grave.
