Pfc. Samuel J. JEFFERSON, 18, of Topeka was killed in action March 4 in Korea, according to a message received Thursday by his mother, Mrs. Flossie THOMAS, 1422 Chandler. She previously had received word from the Department of Defense that he was missing in action. Private Jefferson, a native Topekan, joined the Army last June. He received his basic training at Fort Riley and had been overseas since October.
