LAWRENCE Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary for Raymond S. "Shorty" LAWRENCE, 69, Topeka. He died Thursday, Dec. 15, 1988, at a Topeka hospital. Mr. LAWRENCE worked for May, Ransom and Sheetz Construction before he retired in 1971, after an auto accident. He was born May 27, 1919, at Tonganoxie, the son of William G. and Mina HOLLINGSWORTH LAWRENCE. He spent most of his life in Topeka. He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945. Mr. LAWRENCE was a member of Philip Billard Post No. 1650 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Local No. 101 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. His wife, Lorene FORTMEYER LAWRENCE, survives. Other survivors include a son, Steve R. LAWRENCE, Topeka; a daughter, Karen S. BROWN, Topeka; a brother, Floyd LAWRENCE, McLouth, three sisters, Lucille Elliott and Rosalee GUENTHER, both of Leavenworth, and Gladys TURNER, Tonganoxie; and three grandchildren. Philip Billard Post No. 1650, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will conduct graveside services with military honors at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Assembly of God Church, 3710 N.
