Maddox Dies at Age 99; Rites Pending. James H. MADDOX, 99, of Silver Lake, a resident there most of his life, died Saturday in a Topeka nursing home. He was born in 1862 The family said the last event he attended was "The Kansas Story," held at the Mid America Fairgrounds in Topeka. Surviving are three sons, William Maddox of Silver Lake, William Maddox of 940 N. Michigan, and James Maddox of Liberty, Mo.; three daughters, Miss Sadie Maddox of Topeka; Mrs. Adadelle BREIT of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Mrs. Rozella JEFFRIES of Silver Lake; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
