Pvt. Robert T. MELTON, died of pneumonia at Camp Funston, Sunday morning according to word received in Topeka, by relatives. He was bugler of the Thirty-first Co., 164th Depot brigade. He went to Camp Funston with the Shawnee county consignment September 9. Melton was born near Tecumseh, January 16, 1897; was a graduate of the Topeka high school, and had been for three years a student in the school of engineering at the University of Kansas. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Melton, of Tecumseh, and a gradson of T. J. Melton, of Shorey and Robert RIDGON, of Silver Lake, both of them veterans of the Civil War.
