Delmar P. Milne.
Delmar P. MILNE, 52, personnel director of the state department of Social
Welfare, died unexpectedly Monday noon in a Topeka hospital. He was born
September 6, 1898, in Iola and served in Frances with the 35th Division during
World War I. He was a graduate of Kansas University. His home was 1027 Tyler.
He came to Topeka in 1933 and became associated with the Civil Works Commission,
the forerunner of the Kansas Department of Social Welfare. He was a member of
the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, the Presbyterian Church in Iola and the Topeka
Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bernice Milne, society editor of the State
Journal; his mother, Mrs. Agnes Milne, Detroit, Mich.; eight brothers, William
Milne, Evansville, Ind., John Milne, Garden City, Donald J., and Frank Milne,
Iola, Tom Milne, Lincoln, Neb., Edwin Milne, Los Angeles, Calif., Phil Milne,
Wichita, and Alex Milne, Topeka; three sister, Mrs. Ted MELLWAIN, Detroit, Mrs.
Robert TROMBOLD, Richmond, Va., and Mrs. Harry WRIGHT, Supply, Okla.
