Meriden.--Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist Church at Grantville for Charles MOFFITT, Sr., 86, Meriden, who died Monday at the home of a son, Lee Moffitt, Meriden. He was born Jan. 3, 1879 at Guthrie Center, Iowa, and had lived in Jefferson County since 1913. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maggie Moffitt, at home; four other sons, Charles Moffitt, Jr., and Lawrence Moffitt, both of Oskaloosa, Steven Moffitt, San Bernardino, Calif., and George Moffitt, 2001 N. Monroe, Topeka; a daughter, Mrs. Goldie DAVIS, Rifle, Colo.; a brother; four sisters; 13 grand-children and two great-grand-children. Burial will be in Grantville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home at Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.
