MITCHELL James W. Mitchell, 65, resident of Kansas for many years, died Friday morning at his home, 3715 West Twenty-first. Born in Clinton, Ia., August 5, 1876, he came to Kansas with his parents at an early age and had been a resident of Topeka since 1936. He was member of the Methodist church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura I. Mitchell of the home; one daughter, Miss Vera S. Mitchell, of Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, E. O. Mitchell, Osage City; C. T. Mitchell, San Francisco, Calif.; and R. W. Mitchell, Topeka; three brothers, Ed. T. and Roy Mitchell, Lisco, Neb., and Orville Mitchell, Torrence, Wyo.; three sisters, Mrs. Rettie Cooper, Mrs. Mary Cooper and Mrs. E. T. Bryon, Hoxie, Kan., and two grandchildren.
