Mrs. J.L. Payne Succumbs After Illness of Several Months. Mrs. Ada Fisk PAINE, wife of J.L. Paine, pioneer Topeka jeweler, died at Christ hospital yesterday morning following an illness of several months. Mrs. Paine had been in poor health for a number of years; but it is only recently that her condition has been regarded as serious. Mrs. Paine was an old resident of Topeka, having come here with her mother, the late Mrs. N.B. ARNOLD, in 1876. She was bonr in Patriot, Ind., in 1859, and was married in Topeka in 1879. The family home for many years was in North Topeka, altho more recently it has been at 900 Morris avenue. Beside her husband Mrs. Paine is survived by her four children--Mrs. Custer DIESEM, of Leavenworth, Miss Claire Paine, Mrs. Annie ATKINSON and Dr. D. R. Paine of Topeka.
