Body of Claude E. REDMOND Will Arrive From Germany Today. The body of Private Claude E. REDMOND, aged 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.P. Redmond, of Carbondale, who was accidentally killed near Coblentz, Germany, on January 27, 1919, will arrive in Topeka late this afternoon for burial. It is the first body of an overseas soldier to be returned to Topeka. Redmond sailed for France in September 1918, and upon his arrival there was transferred to the Fifth Marines, Second division. When the armistice was signed he remained in the army of occupation. While with his outfit near Coblentz he was shot accidentally by a fellow soldier who was cleaning an army pistol. Besides his parents Redmond is survived by two brothers, Clarence Redmond, of Topeka; and Preston Redmond, and one sister, Miss Myra Redmond of Carbondale. The funeral party will leave Dexter's undertaking rooms at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon for the Wakarusa cemetery, where the burial will be.
