C.W. Schwartz Was Returning From Trip to California. C.W. SCHWARTZ, chief clerk at the Santa Fe storehouse, died suddenly Friday morning. He was taken ill on a Santa Fe train and was carried from the train to the depot at Emporia, th first station. He died a few minutes later. Death was due to apoplexy, according to the coroner at Emporia. Finding a bottle of carbolic acid in a toilet led some to believe at first death was from another cause. Schwartz was on his way home from California where he had gone for his health. He is said to have been in ill health for the last year. He worked for the Santa Fe for twenty years.
