Shirley Dies. Retired Farmer Fell Unconscious on Sidewalk in Topeka. Falling unconscious to the walk, never regaining consciousness, Moses J. SHIRELY, age 70, a retired farmer died Friday afternoon while leaving Mrs. Isabel White's store, 117 North Quincy street. The pulmotor rushed to the scene was of no avail in reviving him. He was identified by a bank book in his pocket. An autopsy is being made by Dr. O.F. Marcotte, coroner. The result will determine whether or not an inquest will be held. Shirley settled on a farm near Grantville in 1872. Twenty years ago he moved to Topeka and has made his home at 1357 Garfield street. In addition to the farm at Grantville, he also owns 500 acres at Council Grove. He is survived by his brother, William Shirley; a daughter, Miss Elizabeth Shirley, and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Anna GIVENS and Miss Belle Shirley of Topeka. Burial will be in Grantville cemetery.
