Emory Slaughter. J. Emory SLAUGHTER, 75, of 1131 Lane, died Thursday in the Santa Fe Hospital. Born in Paducah, Ky., he lived in Topeka since he was eight years of age. He retired in 1945 from employment in the general Santa Fe office building. Previous to that he wa a private car porter for the Santa Fe. he had also been employed by The Topeka Capital. Slaughter served as treasurer of the Pilgrim Baptist Church of which he was a member. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Katie SLAUGHTER; a daughter, Mrs. Faye L. RICHARDSON, and a grandson, Jack Stewart Richardson, all of the home; a sister, Mrs. Belle HARRIS of Topeka; three brothers, S. Elery Slaughter of Topeka and Reuben and Ben, both of Cleveland, and several nieces and nephews. Gaines and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
