Stephen Smerchek.
Carbondale--Private services will be Monday afternoon in the home of Stephen
SMERCHEK, 72, of Carbondale, who died at his home Firday.
He was born Dec. 29, 1888, at Cleburne, and was a retired farmer and a veteran
of World War I.
He lived in Carbondale nine years.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alta Smerchek and a son, Jesse Smerchek, both of
the home; two brothers, William Smerchek of Topeka and Emil Smerchek, Route 9;
and  a sister, Mrs. Lydia Nemeck of Humboldt, Neb.
Burial will be in the Foster Cemetery.
The Baker Funeral Home of Overbrook is in charge of arrangements.
