George C. Smith.
George C. SMITH, 80, formerly of Topeka, died Sunday in San DeFuca, Wash.,
according to word received by his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Virginia E. SMITH, 2313,
Moundview.
Mr. Smith was born May 25, 1871, in Illinois and made his home in Topeka 70
years before moving to Washington five years ago. He was a former employee of
the city water department and a member of the Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Viola E. Smith, of the home; three daughters,
Mrs. May DRESSEL, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Jennie McGRANAHAN, Oak Harbor,
Wash.; and Mrs. Pauline POWELL, Oklahoma City, Okla.; a son, James R. SMITH,
Pittsfield, Ill. 
Funeral services and burial will be Oak Harbor, Wash.
