Osage City.--Mrs. Fern SPENCER, 54, formerly of Lyndon and Winfield, died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday at an Osage City rest home where she had been the past nine months. A relative said Mrs. Spencer had suffered several strokes earlier. She was born Jan. 12, 1911 at Hope in Dickinson County. She lived at Winfield 11 years before moving to Osage City. Earlier she lived at Lyndon. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joe GARRISON, 403 N. Arter; a son, LeRoy SPENCER, Norton; two brothers, Harold STROTH, 613 Grattan, and Edward STROTH, 514 Scotland; four sisters, Mrs. Gladys TAYLOR, Route 4; Mrs. Vera KRAUSE, Hope; Mrs. Viola DEMPSEY, Wilmington, Calif.; and Mrs. Selma RIFFLE, Lodi, Calif.; and a granddaughter. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary. Burial will be in Half Day Cemetery at Elmont.
