Court Stenographer in Second Division of District Court. Donald W. WELLMAN, court stenographer for the second division of the Shawnee district court, died yesterday morning of Bright's disease, in a local hospital. Mr. Wellman had been in poor health for several months, but served in his duties at the court house until a few weeks ago. Mr. Wellman was at one time president of the Kansas Court Reporters' association. Not only was Mr. Wellman a favorite in law circles, but he was also well known in musical circles in Topeka. He and Mrs. Wellman were both good singers, and appeared in public many times. Mrs. Wellman before her marriage was Gwendolyn CHASE, the daughter of Dr. J.S. Chase, 1213 West Sixth avenue. Mr. Wellman is survived by Mrs. Wellman, Jean, a daughter, James W. Wellman, a brother, now in service, Mrs. A. CLEM, a sister of Los Angeles, and the mother. The funeral announcements will not be made until word can be received from Mr. Wellman's mother, who left for California last week.
