Mrs. York, 82, Dies at Lyndon; Rites Monday.
Lyndon.--Mrs. Sophia YORK, 82, died Saturday at her home here after a long illness.
She as born Dec. 30, 1882 at Lawrence and had lived at Lyndon 20 years. Earlier
she lived in Scranton where she helped operate a produce and feed store.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Ladies' Aid and the Garden Club, both at
Lyndon.
She was married to Thomas P. YORK, Feb. 11, 1904 at Lawrence. He died June 21,
1954. Two daughters also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Carrie York, of the home, and Mrs. Gladys
HANSEN, Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Marie NEWTON, Colfax, Wash.; a brother, Fred
SCHNEIDER, Spokane, Wash.; a grandson and a great granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Presbyterian Church at Lyndon.
Burial will be in Lyndon Cemetery. Shaffer Mortuary at Lyndon is in charge of
arrangements.
