Brookman of Stafford County, in the State of Kansas of the first part, and Henry Cruse of Stafford County, in the State of Kansas of the second part: Witnesseth, That said party of the first part, in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, all the following described Real Estate, situated in the County of Stafford, and State of Kansas, to wit: South West Quarter of Section Twenty six Township Twenty Four South of Range Twelve West of the Sixth Principal Meridan in Kansas. Containing One Hundred and Sixty Acres More or less. In Witness Whereof, the said party of the first part has hereunto set his hand the day and year first above written. Stephen H. Brookman State of Kansas Stafford County, ss: Be it remembered that this 22d day of January A.D. 1883 before me the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for the County and State aforesaid, came Stephen H. Bookman who is personally knonw to me to be the same person who executed teh within instrument of writing, and such person has duly acknowledged the execution of the same. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and affixed my Official seal, the day and yar last above written. E.S.
