Cruse Filed for Record on 4th day of May 1885 at 1:30 P.M. and Wife F.B. Gillmore, Register of Deeds To per T.J. Maxwell Dept. L.G. and J.W. Allen This Indenture Made this 4th day of May A.D. 1885 between Samuel S. Cruse and Jennie P. Cruse husband and wife of Stafford County, in the State of Kansas of the first part, and L.G. and J.W. Allen of Cass County, in the State of Missouri of the second part: Witnesseth, That said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred and Twenty and _____ DOLLARS, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, does by these presents, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said parties of the second part, their heirs and assigns, all the following described real estate, situated in the County of Stafford and State of Kansas, to wit: The North one half of the south west one quarter of section twenty nine (29) Township twenty four (24) south of Range Twelve (12) west of the sixth P.M. and containing Eighty acres more or less according to U.S. Government survey. To Have and to hold the Same, Together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments, and appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in anywise appertaining, forever: And said Grantors for themselves their heirs, executors, or administrators, does hereby covenant, promise, and agree to and with said parties of the second part that at the delivery of these presents they are lawfully seized their own right, of an absolute and indefeasible estate of inheritance, in fee simple, of and in all and singular the above granted and described premises, with the appurtenances; that the same are free, clear, discharged, and unencumbered, of and from all former and other grants, titles, charges, estates, judgments, taxes, assessments and incumbrances, of what nature of kind soever; Except a mortgage of 400.00 negotiated by J.B. Watkins & Co. of Lawrence Kan which grantees assume and agree to pay and that they will Warrant and Forever Defend the same unto said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns, against said parties of the first part their heirs, and all and every person or persons whomsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim the same. Be it Remembered that this 4th day of May A.D. 1885, before me the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for the County and State aforesaid, came Samuel S. Cruse and Jennie P. Cruse Husband and wife who are personally known to me to be the same persons who executed the within instrument of writing, and such persons duly acknowledged the execution of the same.
