Another pleasant gathering on the evening of the 27th of April.  The friends 
and neighbors of W. M. JEANS to the number of forty-five took possession of his 
residence, it being the 31st milestone in his journey of life.  The occasion, 
supper and meeting were perfect.  The whole program was carried out in purely 
western Kansas style, each one throwing kindly works and sunny smiles into the 
entertainment.  The meeting adjourned at 12 o'clock, all hoping to give Mr. 
JEANS another birthday surprise as late as 1940.  A committee is appointed to 
get another victim.
