Light Service
There is some demand for an all-night service from our light plant. Of course,
the council is doing what appears to them to be the right thing and are giving a
service that leaves the city in darkness from midnight until 5 o'clock. It is a
little inconvenient, but the revenues of the sysem will not justify a great
expense. Our idea was not favorable to the buying and building of the water and
lighting plant for the city to secure them, but now that we have them, we are of
the opinion that they should be made to answer the purpose and we are of the
opinion that the present rates for light and water will have to be raised before
the plant will make a fair showing.
