The Colby Free Press, Thomas County, Thursday, December 26, 1918
Matthew Alonzo, son of Loren and Kate JONES, was born in Colby, Kansas, October
3, 1907. He took the influenza which was followed by pneumonia, and after the
most intense suffering, he passed away, Dec. 22, 1918, at the age of 11 years, 2
months and 19 days. He is survived by his parents, three sisters, one brother,
other relatives and friends.
The funeral services were from the home, and were conducted by Rev. John A.
Westerman.

We desire to thank the many kind friends who so generously extended their
heartfelt sympathy in our recent bereavement and sorrow. Also for the profuse
floral offerings.
