H. SMITH, of this city, at 11 o'clock Sunday night, Feb. 23d, 1913, after a short sickness, at the age of 58 years, 1 month, 26 days. She made her home in Illinois until about the year 1897 when she came to Colby, Kansas. For the past 10 years she has lived in or near Manhattan, Kansas, making her home with her niece, Mrs. Wayne MUNN, and where she won a host of friends who will mourn her death. She was never married but, has lived a life of devotion to others, being of a most self-sacrificing character. She became a membe rof the Christian church at the age of 14 years and after a life of true Christian service, at her request was laid to rest near relatives in the Colby cemetery. The funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Bro. B.A. Channer, pastor of the Christian church at Goodland, Kansas.
