The Colby Tribune, Thomas County, Thursday, March 12, 1891
Died.--Emporia, Kan., March 2nd, 1891 John King STOWELL aged 14 years, 8 months
and 24 days, only son of John C. and Harriet N. Stowell. Burial in Maplewood
cemetery, March 4th at 10:30. The family came to Emporia recently from Pawnee
county, Nebr. and originally from Western Pennsylvania.--Emporia Republican.

Mr. Stowell and family will be remembered as having had charge of the Colby
House, at this place, for a year or more.
