He was run over by a Union Pacific train at that place. Mr. Weld has been foreman of the Russell Record for the past three years, since N.A. TURNER has had charge, of the paper there and was also his foreman for several years here when Nort was editor of the Tribune and office was over the post office in the south part of the brick building which is now owned by J. T. FITZGERALD. At the time Ray was here he was slightly hard of hearing and later he continued to get worse so that in a few years he was absolutely deaf and unable to hear a thing. We have heard none of the particulars but presume that his inability to hear the train coming was the cause of his death. Friends certainly sympathize with the bereaved wife and babies in this loss which comes as a shock. Mr. Weld must have been killed last Thursday evening as an account was given in Friday's State Journal. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/thomas/obits/w/weld1863ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
