Sam'l BARNES went to Nebraska Wednesday to visit his son Guy, for two or three weeks. Miss Mary MAUNDER returned home MOnday from Fostoria, where she taught school the past year. Miss Julia ALDRICH spent Saturday afternoon in the city returning to Haddam in the evening. Wm. PYM and family moved onto Mrs. PYM's farm two miles this side of Haddam last Saturday. Misses Hattie and Lucy SMITH who both teach near Morrowville, were shopping in the city Saturday. Wm. SNODGRASS had the misfortune to be thrown from his horse Wednesday evening and was severely hurt. Dave BALLARD was in town yesterday from Ballards Falls and said he wanted a good trusty farm hand next week, a man with small family preferred. Miss Emma MAUNDER came home Monday from Blocker at which place she organized a Junior Endeavor society. Mrs. CROW, of Humbolt, Neb., is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. ROBERTSON of the Central House this week. Col. D.M. EVANS will cry a sale for Wm. DOLSON near Haddam Tuesday, April 20. Mr. DOLSON will move to Oregon. Mrs. T.S. ROWLAND, of Parallel, was the guest of Mrs. H.C. ROBINSON Monday. She went to Hiawatha Tuesday as a delegate to attend Presbytery. Miss Elspie WYLIE, who has been spending the winter here with her sister, Mrs. MONTGOMERY, left over the B.& M. Monday for her home in Washta, Iowa. Mrs. Jas. ALLISON returned to Marysville Tuesday after a few days visit with friends here.
