Mrs Andrew BEVERLY, who has been sick the greater part of the winter, died Monday night at about 10 o'clock. The immediate cause of her death was dropsy. Mary W SMITH was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, January 5, 1837. When ten years of age, she moved with her parents to Williams county, Ohio, where she was united in marriage to Andrew BEVERLY, October 19, 1854. They then moved to DeKalb county, Indiana, where they lived until the spring of 1870, when they moved to Washington county, Kansas, locating on a homestead southeast of Greenleaf. In 1884 they moved to Greenleaf, where they have since resided. Mrs BEVERLY was 76 years 3 months and 9 days old. At the age of seventeen, Mrs BEVERLY gave her heart to God and united with the M E church. She was a good neighbor and friend to those in need. In addition to her husband, she leaves four children - Mrs Alice MELBER of Mountain Grove, MO, Mrs John KENNINGTON and A M BEVERLY of Greenleaf, and Ace BEVERLY of Concordia, also ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. During the past year Mr and Mrs BEVERLY have had quite a serious time. A year ago next Sunday, Mr BEVERLY got his hip broken in a fall and was laid up all summer practically, and as soon as he was able to be around, Mrs BEVERLY was taken sick. The sympathy of the community is extended to Mr BEVERLY in his bereavement. Funeral services were conducted at the home yesterday at 2 p.m. by Rev E C THORP and the remains interred at Mt James cemetery. - CARD OF THANKS To the many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the sickness, death and burial of our wife and mother, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude.
