Mr Carter was almost 77 years of age and he made Greenleaf his home fro 24 years. He was an old soldier and a member of the Greenleaf Post. He was the father of Mine CARTER of Greenleaf. Additional Comments: This appears to be John B Carter. He lived with his wife, Rosanne, in Greenleaf in the 1880 census. They had four children in the census.
