Sewell GASKILL was born in 1840 in Henry Co., Iowa. With his parents he moved to Brown Co., Kan. in 1857 and in 1872 came to Washington Co., Kan., where he has since lived. Through sickness he lost the power of speech and hearing when about eight years of age. When a child, he was baptised in the Methodist Epicopal church and always expressed his faith in Christ and the hope of the future life. He died Friday night July 15th. The funeral was held at the home of his sister Mrs. J. NUTTER, Sunday July 17, conducted by Rev. E.C. THORP of Greenleaf, and interment made in the Mt. James cemetery. He leaves two sisters and a brother, Mrs. J. Nutter of Greenleaf, Kan., Mrs. WATSON of Mich., and A.
