The deceased was born in Cumberland county, Pennsylvania, September 27, 1828, where he spent his early life. In 1849 he was married to Margaret A. COOK to which union were born nine children all of whom survive him. He has always been interested in public affairs of the community in which he lived, he has hadl several local offices being at the time of his death justice of peace and a member of the school board. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Sunday school. He died at his home August 26, 1904, being 75 years, 11 months and 29 days of age. The funeral was conducted by Rev. C.R.
