It seems that Mr MADISON was in company of John GILLSPIE, James ESSECEX, Ross H PORTER, and Henry ABLE. The driver of the machine lost control while going up hill fourteen miles northeast of Burr Oak on account of something getting wrong with the steering apparatus. The front wheels ran up on a small bank and the machine tipped over. MADISON< GILLSPIE, and ESSECEX were pinned under the machine while the others were thrown clear out of it . Non but Victor were seriously hurt, his breast being crushed. The machine was a big Rambler and it took some time to raise it. Victor G MADISON, only son of Mr and Mrs A MADSON was born near Greenleaf, Kansas April 2nd, 1878. His untimely death occurred at Burr Oak, Kansas, April 6th, 1913, at the age of 35 years and 4 days. September 3rd, 1893, he united with the English Lutheran Church at Barnes, Kansas. October 4th, 1904, he married Miss Mabel FOLLETTE of Waterville, Kansas, and to this union were born 3 children, 2 sons and 1 daughter, all of which survive him. Victor was proceeded to the other shore by his older sister, Millie, who departed this life, May 1st, 1911. In addition to his wife and family, the deceased leaves his aged parents, two sisters, Mrs Fred SHAW and Mrs Lewis GOODMAN. Numerous other relatives and a host of friends, at Greenleaf, Clyde and Burr Oak, among whom he was always a great favorite for his jovial and good natured disposition, among whom his sudden death will be universally mourned. Funeral services were conducted at the English Lutheran church at 11:30 o'clock yesterday by Rev E E McAFERTY and the Masonic lodge conducted burial services at Maplewood cemetery.
