Monk Dead. One of the saddest deaths it has ever become our duty to record is that of Mrs. Leona MONK, the wife of Chas. Monk, which occurred at their home four miles south and one west of Greenleaf, Friday, April 15, at twelve o'clock. She as born in Wisconsin, August 16, 1872, making her at the time of her death, thirty-seven years, seven months and three days of age. She was married in 1891 to Chas. Monk and to them were born five boys and five girls, all of whom survive her the youngest baby only four weeks old. The funeral was held at the home Sunday, April 17, and conducted by the United Brethren minister from Kimeo. It was the largest funeral ever in that locality. In the death of Mrs. Monk her mother, Mrs. Lester, loses a knid daughter, her sister, Mrs. W.K. Monk, an affectionate sister, her children a loving mother and her husband a dear companion. She also leaves many other relatives, friends and neighbors to mourn her departure. The sympathy of everybody is extended to the grief stricken family.--Barnes Chief. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/washington/obits/m/monk98ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
