She was born in Dantzie, Prussia, Nov. 18, 1804, her maiden name was Henrietta KRINTZE. She was united in marriage to Charles Nemitz in 1824. They lived in the picturesque valley of Benttow, where nine children were born to them, six of whom are living, Ferdinand in Michigan, and Henry in Iowa, William, Edward, Mrs. Labes and Mrs. THRUN in this county. They emigrated to American in 1866, locating in Davis county, Iowa. In 1872 they settled in this county. For twenty years Grandmother Nemitz has been sojourneying alone, her husband, Chas. Nemitz, died 20 years ago last August. Children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and many friends attended her funeral last Tuesday.
